7000 BC returns to Bubonicon,
Albuquerque's sci-fi and fantasy literary and arts convention, on
August 23–25 and there will be rats for all! Plus longtime 7000 BC member and friend Dale Ray Deforest is this year's Artist Guest of Honor!
We'll
have a table in the Dealers Room where we'll be selling comics from
members and promoting our workshops. We're looking for volunteers to
help staff the table throughout the weekend — if you're available and
interested, email jeff@7000bc.org.
- Peter Ziomek will be hosting a drawing session this Friday, August 16 at Slice of Life Anime and Manga to get a jump on this year's raffle drawing featuring 55 Rats!
- The annual Artists Chat will be Friday evening at 8:30 pm in Salon A-D.
- Artist Guest of Honor Dale Deforest will show his work in a Slide Show Saturday at 3:05 - 4:20 PM in the Carlsbad Room.
- Dale will also contribute to two panels: Myth, Gods, and Monsters Across Cultures on Saturday at 12:00 - 12:50 PM in Salon A-D; and Creativity Off the Page: Other Endeavors on Sunday at 10:00 - 10:50 AM in Main Room - Salon E.
- Local Artists Jeremy Montoya and Jon Sanchez will discuss their process with Bubonicon Presents: Making a Movie Poster, Saturday 12:00-12:50 PM in the Carlsbad Room.
- Jeff will be lecturing on comics and activism in Truth, Justice, and the American on Sunday 1:45 - 3:15 pm in the Carlsbad Room.
